Focus on God not your circumstances . . . .

Like Gideon, we too can be tempted to arrive at misguided conclusions about God when we focus more on our circumstances than on His greatness and holiness. We need to avoid letting our fears and doubts hinder what He wants to do in us and through us.

Again, however, Gideon had his focus all wrong. He was living by sight and not by faith. In God’s call to service, a person’s social position and wealth do not matter. God is looking for someone who will respond to Him with trust and obedience. The great servants of the faith showcase God’s power, not their own.
