David the Warrior/David the King

I have been thinking about David the warrior and David the king.  One man two stories.  David the warrior fought battles and won wars.  He was very aware (alert) of his surroundings and was aware he could sin.  In a split second he could have killed Saul while sleeping in a cave, but chose not to.  He followed God and not his desires, waiting for his inheritance to the throne at God’s timing.

David the king became to familiar with his surroundings.  He became lazy, staying at home when he should have been off at war.  Letting his guard down he chose a path which led to murder and adultery, choosing to follow his lustful desires.  So tell me which David did God love, David the warrior or David the king?

Hebrews 11 is a list of those who God found faithful and David is among the listed.  God loved David, David the warrior and David the king.  He loved the good, the bad, and the ugly!  If he can love David, he can and will love you.

Hebrews 11:32-38
